Carlos Manuel Ferreira Alves<\/strong>, born on the 25th of June in Braga, is currently a PhD Candidate in Informatics at the Algoritmi Center at the University of Minho<\/strong>, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and a professor at the University of Minho (UMINHO) and University of Maia (UMAIA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In his early academic path, he completed the Technical Course in Management Informatics at EsproMinho<\/strong>, which gave him equivalence to his 12th year with an average of 15 values. During this period, he has been sub-delegated to the class several times.<\/p>\n

In his academic career, he completed the Technological Specialization Course in Development of Multimedia Products<\/b> at the Polytechnic Institute of C\u00e1vado and Ave<\/b> in Barcelos. He also obtains the Pedagogical Skills Certificate, which has been successfully completed.<\/p>\n

He attended the first year of the Degree in Medical Informatics at the Higher School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of C\u00e1vado and Ave<\/b>. He was elected Student Representative of the Escola Superior de Tecnologia on the General Council of the Polytechnic Institute of C\u00e1vado and Ave.<\/p>\n

He completed the Degree in Communication and Multimedia<\/b> at the University of Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes and Alto Douro<\/b> in 2016 with an average of 15 points. Held a Master\u2019s Degree in Marketing Management<\/b> at IPAM \u2013 Portuguese Institute of Administration and Marketing<\/b>, in the city of Porto with the dissertation theme: The Intention to Use Augmented Reality in Electronic Commerce \u2013 The Case of IKEA Place, to which the score was attributed of 17 Values.<\/p>\n

As a researcher<\/b> at the Algoritmi Research Centre<\/b>, he was previously involved in the Bosch Car Multimedia<\/b> project, the Factory of the Future<\/b>, and in Project NORTE 86 \u2013 Integrated and Innovative Solutions for people\u2019s well-being in complex urban centers<\/b>. At UMAIA<\/b>, he teaches<\/b> several courses<\/b>: Technological Trends and Artificial Intelligence<\/b>, SCRUM Laboratories for Digital Transformation<\/b>, and Seminars for Digital Transformation<\/b>.\u00a0At the University of Minho<\/b>, he lectures<\/b> in the Master\u2019s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, <\/b>the Integrated Master\u2019s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, <\/b>and the Master\u2019s Degree in Law and Informatics.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On a sports level<\/b>, he belonged to the school sports badminton team<\/b> at the EB 2 and 3 school in Nogueira. He was also a sports dancer federated by FPDD \u2013 Portuguese Sports Dance Federation<\/b>, where he represented the Ricardo Abelhas Dance Academy and the Braga Sports Dance Association, which in the Junior 2 Initiate category won the 3rd place title in the Portuguese Cup<\/b>, 4th place in the National Ranking and 5th place in the National Championship. He has already represented Portugal in some international championships.<\/p>\n

In social causes<\/b>, he cooperated with the Food Bank Against Hunger<\/b>. He<\/b> interned<\/b> at two computer companies<\/b>, Inforlink<\/b> and Deltabyte<\/b>, both in Braga. At a professional level, he worked as public relations, as a marketeer in several companies and as a trainer<\/b> in the areas<\/b> of<\/b> marketing<\/b> and<\/b> information<\/b> technology<\/b>.<\/p>\n

His current academic role, both at the University of Minho and at the University of Maia, enables him to combine his technological expertise with strong pedagogical skills, preparing the next generation of professionals to address the challenges of informatics and digital transformation.\u00a0His teaching methodology, applied in SCRUM Laboratories, the course on Technological Trends and Artificial Intelligence, and the Seminars on Digital Transformation, integrates both theoretical knowledge and practical experience drawn from the business and industrial sectors.
