Filipe Rualde completes his Master’s degree in Digital Transformation with a project focused on data analytics to support decision-making.
It is with great satisfaction that I share another important academic achievement of a student whom I had the privilege of co-supervising in the Master’s program in Digital Transformation at the University of Maia (UMAIA).
Filipe Alexandre Guedes Pinto Rualde successfully completed his Master’s Project, entitled “The Impact of Data Analytics on Improving the Decision-Making Process and the Digital Transformation of an SME,” developed under the supervision of Professor Rui Humberto Pereira and my co-supervision.
Data at the service of digital transformation
The research focused on the role of data analytics and Business Intelligence tools in modernizing the management processes of a small and medium-sized Portuguese company.
Using a practical approach, the project demonstrated how the transformation of operational data into structured information can support decision-making, increase organizational efficiency, and contribute to greater digital maturity in companies. Current methodologies and technologies in the field of data analytics were used to develop the solution, allowing the creation of management support mechanisms based on indicators and business analyses. Applied Research with Business Impact
In a context where digital transformation is a strategic factor for organizational competitiveness, this work highlights the importance of adopting data analytics solutions that allow SMEs to make more informed decisions, reduce manual processes, and foster a data-driven organizational culture.
More than developing a technological solution, this project sought to demonstrate the value of applied innovation in a business context, bringing academic research closer to the real needs of organizations.
An Academic Achievement
As co-supervisor, it was very rewarding to follow the evolution of this work and witness the commitment, scientific rigor, and dedication demonstrated by Filipe throughout the entire process.
The completion of this project represents not only the culmination of two years of specialized training in Digital Transformation, but also another contribution to the practical application of scientific research in improving the competitiveness of companies.
I want to offer my sincere congratulations to Filipe Rualde on this important academic achievement and wish him every success in the future, confident that he will continue to apply the knowledge he has acquired to develop innovative solutions capable of generating value for organizations and society.
